Arri is a Consultant at Birmingham Women's Hospital, Senior Lecturer at the University of Birmingham and a Subspecialist in Reproductive Medicine and Surgery. He teaches in various MRCOG, DRCOG and evidence-based medicine (EBM) courses, as well lectures to MSc students at the University of Birmingham. His lectures are invariably interactive, and are based on sound educational principles.

Arri has published over 70 research articles in top medical journals, such as Nature Reviews, BMJ, CMAJ, BJOG, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Fertility & Sterility and Human Reproduction. He has written several book chapters, books and was also the principal author of the RCOG guideline on "The investigation and management of the small for gestational age fetus". He is a Scientific Editor for BJOG.

He holds over £4 million in research grants, and runs an active research programme. In the past, he was commissioned by the West Midlands Deanery to run EBM workshops for SpRs and Consultants across all specialities in the West Midlands Region, and has been commissioned by the European Union to promote EBM to private enterprises that supply to the NHS.

Arri led a team of researchers in setting up a multi-centre randomised trial to evaluate the effects of progesterone in recurrent miscarriages (PROMISE Trial). This trial has recently been funded by the MRC/HTA for £1.2 million. He also supervises several other randomised trials, including: PRINT Trial (Poor Responders Intervention Trial), to assess the effects of three down-regulation regimes on IVF success in women with reduced ovarian reserves; TROPHY Trial (Trial of outpatient hysteroscopy in women with repeated IVF failures), and FIT for IVF Trial (Fibroid Intervention Trial - assessing the effects of myomectomy on IVF outcomes in women with non cavity distorting intramural fibroids)
