Thomas Justin Clark MBChB, MD (Hons), MRCOG

Justin Clark is a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist at the Birmingham Women’s Hospital. He also has close links with Birmingham University where he is an Honorary Senior Lecturer and Clinical Subdean. He is involved with both designing and delivering undergraduate and postgraduate training programmes and teaches in MBChB and MRCOG courses utilising his expertise in evidence-based medicine.

Justin has a strong research background and was awarded an MD with honours in 2004 by the University of Birmingham. He has published over 40 research articles in major medical journals including the BMJ, JAMA, BJOG, Obstetrics & Gynecology, and Fertility & Sterility and is a regular peer reviewer for the BJOG, EJOG, Human Reproduction and the Lancet. He has been at the forefront in pioneering outpatient interventions for the diagnosis and treatment of menstrual disorders utilising hysteroscopy and ultrasound.

Books

His strong research background and clinical experience enabled him to publish a definitive book in 2005 about the modern, evidence-based management of common gynaecological problems utilising minimally invasive approaches “Handbook of outpatient hysteroscopy: A complete guide to diagnosis and therapy”.

He continues to be active in research holding grants heading clinical trials in endometrial ablation for treating menorrhagia and the laparoscopic treatment of endometriosis associated with chronic pelvic pain.
