Dr. David Lissauer

Clinical Lecturer in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.

Dr David Lissauer, divides his time between clinical work, teaching and research. His research focuses on the challenge of maternal and fetal infections and how the maternal immune system adapts for successful pregnancy. His PhD focussed on maternal T-cell immunology, demonstrating for the first time that maternal T-cells specific for fetal antigens can be detected during normal pregnancy. He is widely published in both basic immunology research and clinical research. One of the aspects of his role he enjoys most is teaching, and he delivers a wide range of teaching to both undergraduate and post-graduate students.
